This is another great patio that our team just finished up. We have been trying out new materials all summer and this new wall system turned out perfect! Our clients have a very large backyard but the side with a view of Mt. Si. had a pretty dramatic slope. We designed a retaining wall with a seating wall set on top to create a large patio area to maximize the views. The wall system is built out of Belgard’s Belair 2.0 retaining wall block with a freestanding version on top for the seating wall, both in Victorian color. The freestanding version allows us to build a seating wall with two faces independent of each other. This allows us to make a curved seating wall without having to cut every single block. Definitely a product that we will be using again! The patio was built out of Lafitt Rustic patio slabs in Victorian color. We added a dark charcoal 6″x9″ border piece to add some accent amongst all of the victorian pavers and wall block. We added some anchor plantings to the landscape, leaving some space for our clients to add some other plants along the way. Our clients have small children so we installed a small Arborvitae hedge at the back of the patio to prevent anyone from stepping off of the patio edge. We also planted two Flowering Dogwoods and a Japanese Bloodgood Maple. There are also Limelight Hydrangeas and Feather Reed Grass planted along the back fence. Once our clients get this patio space all set up they are going to have a great space to enjoy the mountain views!
