This was another full landscape design/build project for Elite Horticulture. Our clients live in a new home that had a very minimal landscape. For the most part we kept the front landscaping intact. We moved a few plants and added an Espalier Apple tree to soften the tile work at the front of the house. The back yard experiences shade for most of the day so we used a variety of plants that would show blooms at different parts of the year. You can already see the hydrangeas blooming, as well as a variety of perennials. During winter and spring hellebore and camellia will brighten up the landscape. To add privacy along one side of the residence we added quaking aspen and a flowering dogwood. To increase seating in the backyard we added about 500 square feet of paver patio area. Dark basalt boulders were placed throughout the landscape to help with topography and add various points of interest. A small bluestone path leads you from the front of the house to the back patio. We installed a full irrigation system to get all of the new plants through the warmer days that are on the way. The finished project is something that is sure to keep our clients outside for the rest of the summer!
