This is our third project using Belgard’s Noon porcelain pavers. Our clients had a smaller backyard that left little room for a traditional landscape. We decided to turn the whole space into a large patio, with seating and dining areas. First, we had to install a small retaining wall along the entire border of the yard to help us with our patio grades coming off of the house. We then covered the existing concrete patio and steps with Belgard Noon porcelain paver in dark charcoal color. All of the porcelain is sand set except for the outer edge and steps so if anything should ever happen to the underlying concrete we can lift the pavers and re-level them with minimal disturbance. for the second portion of the patio, we used Belgard Plaza 2×2 pavers in dark charcoal color to match the porcelain. We left gaps in between the pavers and installed Irish Moss to give the space some added color. We left one small planting area under the window with a Tree Hydrangea and some smaller shrubs. To break up the patio even further we installed seven black fiberglass containers. Two large cube containers with green Japanese maples and five troughs with Yew. We installed only the anchor plants, giving our clients the space to plant any seasonal color that they like. When outfitted with furniture and a fire pit this is really going to be a one of a kind patio!
